This is a very flattering (do we use that word for boys?) suit blazer. I have struggled finding the right fit and cut for my long, lanky 14 year old son, but this is a great fit. The sleeves reach to his hands without the shoulders feeling overly bulky, and when buttoned, it fits my son’s waist nicely. He is 5’5” and 93 lbs. so getting the length right without making it too wide is important to us. It did arrive very wrinkly (see picture), but it’s nothing a steam iron can’t fix. I like that the back is cut to allow larger range of motion, without looking sloppy. The material feels sturdy and well-made, so I’m hoping it holds up long enough for his younger brother to use it too. Overall, a good addition to our dress clothing!
TL;DR: Lighter weight than other similar coats, size can run a little large. Packaging didn't help, adding significant wrinkles to the coat (and also adding more work to get it to "wearable" status).

This is a nice little coat for your kiddo—not too thick, making it versatile in layering clothing. My kiddos run hot, so having options for layers is a plus. Color is nice, the navy was deep blue, which is rare at this price point. The two points of opportunity are: 1.) the coat came in shrink packaging that exacerbated the wrinkles—making the coat unwearable without first some TLC to smooth out the fabric; and 2.) the size ran a little large in the kid sizing. It can be difficult though with kid sizing because of the varying body types and growth for each kid—size 16 typically for 12-13 year olds ran quite large for my average-sized 11 year old. Assuming that he doesn't have a significant growth spurt within the year, this coat would be better suited for 13 year olds.
